I Have FOMO...

My kids would say this often and I wasn’t quite sure what it meant or stood for, but come to realize it’s what many talented individuals like you may have… the fear of missing out!

When you have too much on your plate, you could miss out.

When you are too busy and focused on internal initiatives, you could be missing out.

When you are a ‘giver’ focused on your team, you could be missing out.

When your calendar is jammed packed with a zillion meetings, many of which to NOT require you, you could be missing out.

What could you be missing out on?

Well, first of all- think time. Second of all, time for things outside of work, but let’s focus on your professional talents, your professional super powers.

If all you do is focus on internal deadlines, email, internal initiatives, that you NEVER take time to pause, and wonder- what else is out there? Am I in the right role? Am I working simply for the pay and benefits?

Or, perhaps you are fairly engaged in your job, but you are constantly navigating internal politics which zaps your energy much of the week.

Your career path is your own. So, only you can prevent yourself from missing out on other opportunities to use your time, energy and talents in a way that energizes you, drives you and aligns with your values.

If you do not want to miss out or if you’ve thought about exploring other professional opportunities for a while, but don’t know where to start, try this:

  1. Make a list of the things you truly enjoy about your current job.

  2. Make a list of the thinks you do NOT enjoy in your current job.

  3. What percentage of the week are you using your strengths?

  4. Do you get to do work most of the week that aligns with who you are and your core values?

We only have this one life to live.

Are you giving your best self, or do you have more to offer?

Unsure how to explore other options or what your next steps might be?

We should chat.
